Fair pricing

How we price every card.

Every card here follows the same two-source blend. No markup on hype, no guesswork. Here's exactly how the math works.

Two sources, side by side.

Every card's listing price is derived from two market signals, daily:

  • PriceCharting — eBay-aggregated sold prices for ungraded loose cards. Reflects what cards actually change hands for in the global secondary market.
  • TCGplayer (via tcgcsv) — marketplace asks on the largest US TCG marketplace. Reflects what sellers are listing cards at.

The two don't always agree. PriceCharting tends higher because eBay shipping is baked into completed sales. TCGplayer tends lower on collectibles where bulk listings drag the asking price down. We use the gap, not just the average.

The blend, in one rule.

Most cards

PC ≤ TCG × 2.5 0.20 × PC + 0.80 × TCG

Sources broadly agree → TCG-leaning weighted blend. Anchors to the marketplace ask buyers actually compare against, with PriceCharting pulling 20% to keep us from underselling demonstrable demand.

When PC dominates

PC > TCG × 2.5 (PC + TCG) ÷ 2

PriceCharting strongly leads — usually a reverse-holo common or meta trainer where TCG is bulk-pricing what's actually a collectible. Midpoint blend pulls us up to meet the demand signal without overshooting.

After the blend: × today's USD→PHP exchange rate, rounded to the nearest ₱5 (biased down so ₱28 → ₱25, ₱29 → ₱30).

Why these two, specifically.

PriceCharting is the reference Filipino collectors and players already check before buying. It aggregates completed eBay + TCGplayer sales globally — verifiable by anyone who looks.

TCGplayer is the largest US TCG marketplace; its market price is what most casual buyers anchor to first. Pricing against the marketplace ask keeps us competitive on the cards people search for.

Using both — and weighing the gap between them — means our prices respect demand AND availability. We're not setting a price; we're surfacing one the market already has.

Where our data comes from.

  • PriceCharting: pricecharting.com — daily CSV download, loose-price field
  • TCGplayer: tcgcsv.com — TCGplayer market price feed, refreshed nightly ~20:00 UTC
  • Card catalog: TCGdex — every card's name, number, rarity, set
  • FX rate: openexchangerates.org — daily USD→PHP refresh

We don't pay for any of this data. We just use it to keep our prices honest.
